In a conversation with Chad Hasty of Lubbock’s KFYO radio, Speaker Dennis Bonnen had some strong words for RPT Chairman Allen West in response to his attack on presumptive House Speaker Dade Phelan.
Reminding listeners that the RPT exists to elect conservative Republicans, Bonnen detailed West’s shortcomings, ranging from suing Gov. Abbott over an early voting extension that ultimately spared Texas the mail-in ballot nightmare facing so many other states to attacking Republican candidates while sparing Democrats throughout the entire campaign season.
Bonnen recommended West be given a one-way bus ticket back to Florida, but doubted the Sunshine State would want him back.
